The Franciscan Friars Minor took over the administration of the Church from the previous Rector Rev. Paul Vella D.D

17-08-1902:
First enrolment of members in the Franciscan Third Order

19-06-1910:
The Statue of Our Lady was taken out of the Church for a spontaneous demonstration

02-07-1911:
First Procession with the Statue of Our Lady with the approval of the Ecclesiastical Authorities

29-09-1918:
The Church was erected into a Parish by Archbishop M. Caruana O.S.B

24-04-1919:
The Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament was erected and approved by the Archbishop Caruana

01-04-1924:
Permission was granted to enlarge the front part of the Church

30-06-1935:
The Parish Church was consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

01-04-1942:
The Church was partly destroyed during World War II

1944:
Reconstruction work was taken in hand

09-02-1949:
The Statue of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was profanated, damaged by thieves and robbed of votive offerings



30-11-1950:
The church was consecrated by Archbishop Sir M. Gonzi

17-06-1974:
The main altar was consecrated by Archbishop Sir Michael Gonzi

03-07-1977:
Celebrations marked the 100 anniversary of the laying of the Foundation Stone and the Devotion towards Our Lady



05-07-1981:
Commemorated the first Centenary of the three historical events of  1881

26-06-1999:
The Statue was renovated and brought back from Mdina in pilgrimage
