1923:
In the same year of its foundation
the Sliema Band held its first
musical programme outside Sliema.
This was held at Argotti - Floriana
on the 24th of June 1923
under the invitation
of the
Filarmonica Nazionale La Valette
where a commemorative
silver trophy with the following
inscription
"Alla Filarmonica Nazionale Sliema"
was given to the Society.
1924:
Prize in British Empire Competition.

1926:
Musical Programme by the
Sliema Band for the Feast
of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
celebrated in St. Julians

1929:
First Prize in the National Carnival Competitions.

1932:
Visit to Catania, Sicily. Musical Programme in Villa Bellini and band marches during the Feast of St. Agatha.

1933:
First performance of the “Inno Sliema” composed for the band by Mro Cardenio Botti.


1944:
Sliema Band in National Victory Celebrations.
1945:
Sliema Eagles, a team formed from members and supporters of the Society, well known at the moment bringing a number of victories.

1948:
Celebrations of the 25th Anniversary of the Society's Foundation
1973:
Golden Jubilee Celebrations by the "Sliema" Philharmonic Society
1981:
The "Sliema" Philharmonic Society celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the
presence of the Statue of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The first Titular Statue in Sliema.

1983:
60th Anniversary of the Society

1984:
New facade for the Premises of the Sliema Philharmonic Society, after the disastrous fire incident of July 1983.

1985:
Sliema Band performs at Vittoriosa on Freedom Day
1989:
The Society’s President Dr. Vincent Tabone is elected President of Malta.

1990:
Pope John Paul II is welcomed by the “Sliema” Band during his pastoral visit to Malta.

Musical Programme at the President’s Residence of San Anton Palace.
1991:
Vocal and Musical Programme at Ghar-id-Dud, Sliema, marking the 25th anniversary of H.E. Dr. V. Tabone as President of the Band.
Visit by the President of Cyprus, H.E. Dr. George Vassileou to the “Sliema” Band Club.
Sliema Band performs festive marches marking the 25th Anniversary of Malta’s Independence.
1992:
Musical Programme at the Catholic Institute, Floriana.

1993:
The Society celebrates its 70th Anniversary with various activities.
Launching of the pubblication "70 Sena ta' Storja b'Risq il-Muzika u l-Kultura" by Fr.Raniero Zammit and Winston L. Zammit.

1994:
Musical Concert at the Republic Hall, Mediterrenean Conference Centre, Valletta in honour of the President of Malta Dr. V. Tabone.

Visit to the Autonomous Region of Vallea d’Aosta, Italy ; performance in Parliament ; the Region’s Authorities confer prestigious honours to the “Sliema” Band.

1996:
Participation in the International Bands’ Festival in Bremen, Germany.
Thirtyfive thousand spectators applaud the high musical standards of the “Sliema” Band.


1997:
International opera singers in concert with the “Sliema” Symphony Band.

1998:
The "Sliema" Philharmonic Society celebrates its 75th Anniversary

Millennium Concert at the Republic Hall, Mediterrenean Conference Centre,
Valletta. Premiere of a “Missa da Requiem” for band, choir and singers.


Home Concert by the “Sliema Youth Band” at the Band’s premises.

2001:
Leading Hungarian soprano Magdolna Szabo’, in concert with the “Sliema” Band.

Concerts in Linz and Oftering, Austria. International visit to the mayor of Vienna.
2002:
“Night in Vienna” concert at the University Auditorium with the special participation of Austrian Soprano Petra Chiba.


Philanthropic Concert by the “Youth Band” at the University in support of the Missionary Project for abandoned children in Kenya.

Visit to Veneto and Trentino, Italy.

2003:
World renowned tenor Kaludi Kaludow in the 80th Anniversary Celebrity Concert.

CD with funeral marches.

Gran Gala Dinner at the SAS Radison Hotel to celebrate President Emeritus Dr. Censu Tabone 90th Birthday.


Special Thanks giving Mass in the Parish of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Reception in the premises of the "Sliema" Philharmonic Society to celebrate Dr. Censu Tabone 90th Birthday.


Launching of Special Publication by Fr. Raniero Zammit OFM (Cap) "Biography of famous Sliema People".

Concerts by the “Sliema” Symphony Band in Brussels and The Hague.
Maltese National Anthem played for the first time by a symphonic ensemble in Brussells. Presentation of EU Flag by EU’s authorities

“Sliema Youth Band” in Concert in aid of the Malta Hospice Movement.

2004:
Concert for Europe at the University of Malta.

EU Youth Celebration Concert at the Mediterranean Conference Centre.

2005:
Vocal and Musical Concert by the Sliema Youth Band and Orchestra conducted by Mro Sigmund Mifsud at the University in support of children in Kenya.
Opera and Musical Programme by the Sliema Band conducted by Mro Ronnie Debattista as a Celebration for its International Success with the Concert of Europe in Brussels and the opening of the Cultural Performance Hall at the University of Malta with the participation of Italian International Opera Singers, Soprano Eva Zampieron from Venice and Marco Voleri from Livorno.


Historical International Concerts by the

Como, Italy and Lugano, Switzerland
being the 9th International Visit of this
Glorious Society and Band.
Presentation of a special medal bearing the citys' coat of arms, a certificate of approval
for the high level expressed by the Band from the Secretary of Tourism of the
Province of Como, Dr. Bin, and the mayor Ms. Saladino.
